Senvion wins orders totalling over 32 megawatts in France

Senvion SE has concluded three contracts totalling 32.5 megawatts (MW) with three new customers for wind farm projects in France including Boralex, Neoen and Isac-Watts.

Senvion will equip the Calmont, Villacerf and Severac-Guenrouët wind farms with a total of 16 turbines from its two-megawatt portfolio that will produce enough electricity to power more than 32,500 households* in France. The installation of the turbines is planned for autumn 2015 and commissioning will take place in winter 2015. Senvion will provide full maintenance of the Villacerf and Severac-Guenrouët wind farms for a period of 15 years and of the Calmont wind farm for a period of two years. Following their completion, the three wind farms will save 20,800 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.

Located in the region of the Midi-Pyrénées, the Calmont wind farm developed by the customer Boralex will consist of seven Senvion MM92 turbines with a rated power of 2.05 MW and a hub height of 80 metres. The Villacerf wind farm, located in the region of Champagne-Ardenne and developed by the customer Neoen, will consist of five Senvion MM100 turbines with a nominal output of 2 MW and a hub height of 80 metres. The third contract, Severac-Guenrouët, a community wind farm, has been signed by Senvion and the customer Isac-Watts. Four Senvion MM92 turbines with a hub height of 100 metres are intended for this wind farm located in the region of Pays de la Loire.

Olivier Perot, Managing Director of Senvion South West Europe, says: “I am delighted to see Senvion is contributing to the development of wind energy in France, working towards the French energy transition law, which targets 40 per cent renewable energy in electricity production by 2030. In addition to the expansion of renewable energies in France, Senvion is contributing to job creation in the country by the opening of a new service centre in March this year, which is located in Lislet in the Picardie region.”

Olivier Lauras, Head of Sales of Senvion South West Europe, adds: “I am proud Senvion is serving these new customers: Our product and service solutions help reduce the cost of wind energy, put our customers ahead in their market and help them generate sustainable and affordable power. It is a privilege for Senvion to work on these three projects and we look forward to supporting our customers with our outstanding project management capabilities as well as our operation and maintenance services in the years to come.”
