Product Pick of the Week - Single inlet centrifugal fans cool things down

Rosenberg’s ERAE and ERAD series includes forward-curved radial centrifugal AC fans that deliver up to 4,000 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air movement in a space-saving, single-inlet design

A manufacturer of industrial fans offers one for cooling generators and switchboards in the wind industry. Rosenberg’s ERAE and ERAD series includes forward-curved radial centrifugal AC fans that deliver up to 4,000 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air movement in a space-saving, single-inlet design.

Fan sizes are available from 5.2 in. to 15.7 in. (133 mm to 400 mm). The size designation corresponds to the outside diameter of the drum impeller. The impeller is made of galvanized sheet steel. It’s mounted directly to the rotor of the external rotor motor—which is 100% speed controllable—so noise and vibration levels are reduced to the lowest possible. The impeller is balanced dynamically at two levels with the rotor according to quality level G2.5 to DIN1940. The casing is also made of galvanized steel.

The asynchronous motors are protected by thermal contacts. Insulation is Class F. Protection is to IP54. The fans are also available featuring Electronically Commutated (EC) motor technology. The largest EC model (22 inches/560mm) delivers up to 7,500 CFM of air movement. These rugged, high-efficiency centrifugal fans have been developed especially for modern ventilation applications. They comply with R20 standards. The outlet flange is in compliance with DIN323. Other applications for the fans include clean rooms, commercial kitchen applications, and railway air conditioning.

Rosenberg fans have been used in demanding applications around the globe since 1981 and are built to handle a wide range of requirements regarding resistance to mechanical shock, temperature range, and power supply. The company will customize fans to meet air movement problems and include special finishes, voltages, or frequencies.
