PowerWind GmbH to rely on Moventas

PowerWind GmbH, a German manufacturer of wind energy converters (WEC) based in Hamburg with production facilities in Bremerhaven, continues to vigorously pursue its market expansion and product development plans. An integral part of PowerWind's quality philosophy is the exclusive use of components and assemblies manufactured by renowned European and North-American suppliers with experience of wind energy. The Hamburg company has just entered into a comprehensive and long-term agreement with Finland's Moventas Oy for equipping PowerWind WECs with high performance gearbox systems. This marks another significant step in enlarging PowerWind’s suppliers’ basis. Further co-operations for core turbine components are very close to be settled.

"The high-quality and -performance Moventas gearboxes are highly compatible with PowerWind turbines and their modern power performance electronics. The co-operation with Moventas is a perfect example of the strategic thinking behind product development in our company", stated a delighted Stefan Heczko, CEO at PowerWind. Moventas too, sees a promising future by supplying PowerWind: according to Esa Niemi, sales manager at Moventas Oy in Finland, "PowerWind GmbH is a successful, young and dynamic company in the wind energy sector. They have already sold more than 100 wind turbines in Europe, Azerbaijan and very recently to the USA, we see a solid foundation and considerable potential".
