First Wind Farm in Pakistan
Under supervision of IPEK energy, ZORLU (www.zorlu.com) has successfully completed the erection of the first phase of the first wind farm of Pakistan. Phase-1 consist 4 x 1.2MW wind turbines (Vensys-CKD) with 62m rotor diameter and 69m hub height.
The plant will reach an installed capacity of 49.5 MW in the second phase with plans to increase the capacity up to 300 MW.
ZORLU signed an agreement with the Pakistani Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB, www.aedb.org) in 2006 to establish a wind farm in Pakistan.
The 49.5MW wind farm was completely developed and designed by IPEK energy GmbH. The construction works were supervised and coordinated by IPEK energy Pakistan with the support of IPEK Germany.
