YPF Luz to build its fourth wind farm in Argentina
The wind farm will be located in the town of General Levalle, 380 km south of the city of Córdoba, and is expected to have an installed capacity of 155 MW, equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 190,000 households. With an estimated investment of more than $260 million, construction is expected to take about 20 months and create more than 300 jobs during the construction phase, according to developer YPF Luz.
The wind farm, which will also be named General Levalle, will have a capacity factor of more than 50% and will avoid the emissions of more than 350,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. It will include 25 wind turbines of 6.2 MW each on a total area of 4,360 hectares.
"This year, YPF Luz celebrates 10 years of generating renewable, efficient and sustainable energy from different parts of the country, with a clear federal vision and commitment to generate more and better energy throughout the country. With the construction of General Levalle, we are now present in 7 provinces, reinforcing our commitment to the growth of the national energy matrix and the promotion of energy development for the benefit of the people," said Martín Mandarano, CEO of YPF Luz.
