USA - GE Energy, Invenergy in 800 MW wind turbine pact
General Electric Co.'s (GE) GE Energy agreed to supply Invenergy LLC with 800 megawatts of wind turbines, enough power to meet the requirements of 275,000 households, in a deal valued at more than $1 billion.
GE Energy will provide Chicago-based Invenergy with 600 megawatts of 1.5- megawatt wind turbines for projects in North America and another 200 megawatts of 2.5xl wind turbines for European projects.
The wind turbines are slated to ship in 2009.
