Germany - Nordex signs two wind turbine contracts in China with total volume of 150 MW
Nordex AG said it signed two contracts from Chinese utility Beijing Energy to supply a total of 99 turbines. No financial details were disclosed. In the first contract, Nordex agreed to deliver 33 turbines for a wind farm in the highlands of Inner Mongolia, with a volume of 50 MW. The second contract is a frame agreement for 66 turbines with a volume of 100 MW, scheduled for the summer of 2009.
The turbines, to be built in the company's new factories in China, are to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year, Nordex said in a statement. Due to the strong demand, the turbine manufacturer plans to invest around 50 mln eur to extend its factories from mid-2008.
