Hamburg, 06 March 2007. In the 2006 financial year, REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) has achieved a significantly positive operating result: With EUR 12.2 million, the operating result (EBIT) is significantly above the figure of the previous year of minus EUR 4.3 million. This contributes considerably to the successful implementation of the restructuring programme “RE-Act” initiated in 2005 as well as to the increased revenues.
The company achieved total operating performance of EUR 461.5 million (previous year: EUR 335.1 million). The earnings after tax improved from minus EUR 6.8 million to EUR 7.1 million.

In 2006, REpower delivered or installed 263 wind energy turbines with a total capacity of 492.0 MW, compared to 201 turbines with a total installed capacity of 366.0 MW in 2005. Related to the installed capacity, this corresponds to an increase by 34.4 per cent.
The order backlog augmented significantly during the course of the year: per 31 December 2006, it contained 478 turbines (PY: 350 turbines) with a total operating performance of 933.0 MW (PY: 666.0 MW) and a potential sales volume of around EUR 842.8 million (PY: EUR 541.2 million).
The entire consolidated accounts are expected to be presented on 21st March during REpower’s annual press conference.

Moreover, REpower maintained its position as second best manufacturer in the annual service survey conducted by the Federal Wind Energy Association (BWE), in spite of a declining overall satisfaction of the operators. REpower got an average mark of 2.69 (where 1 is the best mark) behind the competitor Enercon who continues to be first. Fuhrländer is ranked no. 3 (mark: 3.26). The survey was conducted among the 2,034 operators registered in the Federal Wind Energy Association.
