USA - AWEA Wind Energy Fall Symposium

Keynote Speaker Announced!

Dear Wind Energy Professionals,

On behalf of the American Wind Energy Association and because of your continued commitment to the wind industry, I would like to personally invite you to attend the Wind Energy Fall Symposium. The Symposium will be held December 6-8 at Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.

The American Wind Energy Association is pleased to announce one of our keynote speakers, Nora Mead Brownell, who will be speaking at the AWEA Wind Energy Fall Symposium during the Welcome & Opening Session on Thursday, November 7 at 8:30 am. Nora Brownell served on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) from June 2001 through July 2006. Prior to joining FERC, Ms. Brownell served as a member of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC).

Why was the Fall Symposium created? The WINDPOWER Conference and Exhibition has traditionally been the annual gathering of the U.S. wind community and its experts. Due to the phenomenal growth of the WINDPOWER event and the wind industry as a whole, it’s become obvious that we need another opportunity to gather together. Particularly, we need a time for serious discussions and conversations about key topics and challenges if we wish to maintain leadership in this boom market.

To fill this need, the first annual AWEA Wind Energy Fall Symposium was held last year and was very well-received with approximately 400 wind energy professionals attending. This year’s Symposium will be even larger, having already passed last year’s total attendance record.

I am pleased and honored to have been asked to serve as Program Chair for AWEA's 2nd Wind Energy Fall Symposium and I am very excited about the program we have put together. Working with AWEA staff and experts within the wind industry, we selected ten topic areas that are critical to the ongoing success of the wind energy industry. We then assembled some of the most experienced and well-respected experts in each topic area to cover the cutting-edge issues in detail. The format, by design, will provide time for questions and discussion.

You will find ample networking opportunities and events built into the Symposium schedule to provide valuable face-to-face networking time. Come and expand your network of business contacts, mix and mingle with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere, and accomplish the quality networking that can be challenging on the exhibit floor at the larger events.

The AWEA Wind Energy Symposium is an event that no one in the wind industry can afford to miss. I encourage you to register now while slots are still available.

I look forward to seeing you there!
