Mobile Manufacturing: Production According to Home Quality Criteria Also Possible Abroad
Max Bögl Wind AG completed the 90th hybrid tower for the wind farm Thepharak in Huai Bong in Thailand in its mobile production hall in Thailand. With 156.5 meters each, the towers are among the highest in Asia, as Udo Hiller, Central Division Manager Wind Turbines at Max Bögl Wind AG, emphasizes: "We are proud to have erected the highest wind turbine towers in Asia during the initial deployment of our mobile production."
The turbines and rotor blades will also be installed in the coming weeks so that the wind farm can be connected to the grid in March. Thailand has set itself the target of increasing the share of renewable energies in the electricity mix to 30 percent by 2036.
The special feature of the production of the towers lies in the mobile manufacturing hall that was used for this purpose. In 262 overseas containers, the complete material was shipped from Sengenthal in Upper Palatinate (Germany) to Huai Bong in Thailand - 17,000 kilometres away, where it was then rebuilt. In addition to conserving resources and infrastructure, value added on site was also supported by the creation of numerous jobs. Josef Knitl, CEO of Max Bögl Wind AG, is proud of the performance of all those involved: "Making a complete production plant possible anywhere in the world - that was our claim. With courageous ideas and committed employees, we have also succeeded in this innovative project."
