Belgium Pushes Offshore Wind Energy

The installation of the 23 wind turbines is scheduled to begin by the end of 2019, as developers Parkwind and turbine manufacturer MHI Vestas confirm. The short period is justified by the highly industrialised Belgian offshore industry.

The 219 MW project is expected to create more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase and 100 long-term jobs for operation and maintenance. MHI Vestas will also take over the service of the offshore wind farm for the next 15 years.
