Tower Specialist ASM Industries Expands its Portuguese Headquarters
The investment of five million euros includes the construction of a new factory building and the purchase of advanced machinery - including a machine that enables the rolling of steel up to 118 mm thick, which is necessary for the new towers. These investments will enable the company to produce steel towers for wind turbines up to 80 tons in unit weight with larger thicknesses and diameters. This will increase production by 40 percent and create 30 new jobs.
"This new unit allows us to increase productivity and competitiveness, standing at the same level of producers from around the world, and maintaining export capacity in the order of 95% for Europe and the Americas, and consolidating its position as the largest producer national level," says Adelino Costa Matos, CEO of ASME.
In addition, the company intends to train more of its own employees in the future.
