EDF Energies Nouvelles continues growth strategy in North America
The contractor EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of four wind parks in the United States with an installed capacity of more than 708 MW and is thus implementing its CAP 2030 plans, which aims to double the capacities for renewable energies by 2030.
Between December 2016 and January 2017 a number of new wind projects were put into operation in the United States:
- Tyler Bluff (125.6 MW) and Salt Fork (174 MW) wind parks in North Texas
- Great Western Wind Farm (225 MW) in northeastern Oklahoma, as well as
- Kelly Creek Wind Farm (184 MW) in Northeastern Illinois.
Three of these projects are linked to major commitments undertaken by international companies which want to reduce their carbon footprint:
96% of the electricity from Tyler Bluff goes to Procter & Gamble, which can cover 100% of its electricity requirements in all North American plants with green electricity.
Most of the Great Western project's electricity goes to a nearby Google data center, while some of the Salt Fork's produced energy goes to Salesforce.
