EDPR opens the Dammarie wind farm
The opening ceremony was attended by Estelle Cochard, Councillor for the region of Centre-Val de Loire and Deputy Mayor of Mainvilliers; Denis-Marc Sirot-Foreau, Vice-Chairman of Chartres Métropole and Mayor of Amilly; Annick Lhermitte, Mayor of Dammarie, and Frédéric Lanoë, Managing Director of EDPR France and Belgium.
The Dammarie wind farm has six wind turbines which are 125 metres tall. The installation of the wind turbines was defined based on studies which took into account human, technical, environmental and regulatory considerations.
The wind farm also contributes towards France’s renewable energy targets. This is especially important given that France is obliged to install almost 23,000 MW of onshore wind energy by 2023 to reach the targets it has been set.
Three months after the opening of the Francourville wind farm, EDPR France has strengthened its foothold in Eure-et-Loir once again thanks to the entry into service of the Dammarie wind farm. This latest opening will underpin EDPR’s leadership position in the Centre-Val de Loire region, following the construction of wind farms in the Departments of Loiret and Indre, and now the Department of Eure-et-Loir.
The company operates a total of 117 MW of wind power in the region. This new facility will take EDPR’s installed capacity in France to 388 MW, making it the fifth leading producer of wind energy on a nationwide level.
