France: E.ON confirms order to STX France-Offshore Energy
A full EPCI contract for STX France
E.ON will have responsibility for building and operating the wind farm. The energy company Statoil will have a 50-percent stake and be involved in the project from the start. STX France will perform an EPCI contract to deliver the jacket foundation, the piles, the substation topside and will be in charge of the transfer and installation at sea. The contract includes a one year maintenance period.
A high technological content to provide a carbon free electricity
The substation includes the most sophisticated technologies with the purpose to achieve a very high level of availability and to optimize the operations & maintenance works. The design of the substation relies on the successful results of previous R&D programs. STX France has already selected the main partners for this project. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC will provide the full electrical package and ABB the electrical transformers. SHL will be in charge of the transport and installation operations.
Delivery is due for 2018
Design activities have already started since July 2015, and construction is expected to start in the 3rd quarter of 2016. The final installation is planned during summer 2018.
