France: STX France to build an offshore substation for Rental

STX France-Offshore Energy signs a contract with Rentel for the engineering, supply and installation of an Offshore Substation

After a competitive selection process, STX France has been awarded the order for the design, construction, installation and commissioning of the 309MW Rentel offshore substation, to be installed at ca. 32 km off the Belgian coast. Delivery is scheduled for 2018.

A new EPCI contract for STX France

This new order confirms STX France competitive position in the offshore wind market. Under this new contract, STX France will perform the design, fabrication, offshore installation and commissioning of the monopile type foundation (approx. 1600 T), the substation topside (approx. 1200 T) including high voltage electrical equipment.

Delivery is due for 2018

Design activities have already started, and construction is expected to start from Q4 2016 onwards.
