Supporting Danish Climate Investment Fund in Brazil
Securing Potential Investment
To secure the successful development of three Brazilian wind farms, the Danish Climate Investment Fund has engaged K2 Management to perform risk assessment, stakeholder analysis and site visits.
The Danish Climate Investment Fund, managed by IFU (the Investment Fund for Developing Countries) is considering investment into three wind farms (total of 82 MW) in the Northeast of Brazil together with a local developer.
“Our focus is to create development supporting local communities, the environment and Danish business opportunities. It is a prerequisite for our investments that projects are commercially viable, offer an attractive return to investors, employ well-known climate technology and reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said Jacob Klingemann, Investment Director at IFU.
IFU has engaged K2 Management Brazil as local eyes and ears on the ground to to secure the best possible potential investment.
“Our local consultants are among the pioneers in the development of wind farms in Brazil and other Latin American countries. Since 2008, our staff has been involved in implementing new plants, managing wind farm construction and commissioning in the region. We are looking forward to supporting and securing the development of the wind projects,” said Lars Kruse, Regional Director and Managing Director of K2 Management Brazil.
If the Danish Climate Investment Fund decides to invest in the three wind farms, K2 Management is lined up to support with technical due diligence of the projects.
