VATTENFALL

Offshore wind farm DanTysk – Green energy from the German sea

The construction of the DanTysk offshore wind power plant on the open sea 70 km west of Sylt is a challenging project, no matter how you look at it. The foundations, set in the seafloor at a depth of 21 to 32 meters, form the base for the wind turbines. The structures take the total height to as much as 148 meters. At the end of the project, which began in March 2014, the DanTysk wind power plant will consist of 80 wind turbines, supplying up to 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to German households starting in 2015.

Take a closer look at the step-by-step implementation of the DanTysk offshore wind farm project undertaken by Vattenfall off the German coast.
