Jacob Andersen to head up Onshore Americas business of Siemens' Wind Power and Renewables Division
Jacob Andersen succeeds Mark Albenze who was recently appointed to CEO of the Siemens Power Generation Services’ Wind Power and Renewables Business Unit. Prior to assuming this new position, Jacob Andersen was Vice President of Wind Power, Siemens Canada. He joined Siemens in 2003 for the installation of the Nysted offshore wind park in Denmark. Following various positions within Wind Power Service and as Global Director for Service Technology, he was appointed Director of Wind Service for the Americas region in 2010. In October 2012, Jacob assumed responsibility for Siemens’ Wind Power activities in Canada.
Mr. Andersen begins in his new position effective immediately and will be based in the Americas headquarters of Siemens’ Wind Power and Renewables Onshore Market Unit in Orlando, Florida, USA.
Siemens reached its 10 gigawatts (GW) of installed wind power capacity milestone in the Americas in 2014. The company has installed more than 5,600 wind turbines in Canada, the USA and South America, including Peru, Chile and Brazil. This capacity is enough to supply clean, renewable power to approximately three million average households.
