Wind Industry Profile of
Nordex awarded follow-up contract by ESB International
Hamburg 9 December 2013. The Nordex Group has received a further order from its Irish customer ESB International, Dublin. In the follow-up “Woodhouse” project, Nordex will be installing a 20-MW wind farm comprising five N100/2500 and three N90/2500 turbines. As a result, Nordex will be covering the local strong to mid wind conditions to optimum effect. Also included is a five-year premium service contract.
To date, Nordex has constructed a total of four wind farms for ESB in the north and south of Ireland with a combined capacity of 67.5 MW. The “Woodhouse” project is located in the south east of the island close to the town of Dungarvan and is to be built in autumn 2014.
Since 2002, Nordex has installed a total of 138 turbines in Ireland with a capacity of 340 MW. “This marks a very encouraging continuation of our performance in this country and vindicates our strategy of working closely with our local customers,” says Nordex Management Board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard. With the projects currently under construction, Nordex will be boosting its total installed capacity in Ireland to over 500 MW.
