This week: Ammonit presents the new Meteo-40 data logger version and the enhanced AmmonitOR monitoring platform at HUSUM
Berlin, August 14, 2012. At HUSUM WindEnergy Ammonit presents its new Meteo-40 data logger version and its online platform AmmonitOR with significantly improved monitoring features. Meteo-40 and AmmonitOR are closely connected. Using both products, operators can perfectly monitor measurement systems from behind the desk.
Ammonit enhanced its Meteo-40 data logger especially for SCADA applications. The new version is equipped with a RS485 interface which is switchable between full- and half-duplex for SCADA data transmission. The data logger supports the Modbus communication protocols Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP. “Looking at our complete SCADA package including hardware and software components, Meteo-40 can be integrated in nearly every SCADA system on the market”, says Vincent Camier, Managing Director of Ammonit.
The new version of the Meteo-40 data logger comes with an Ethernet slot as a replacement for the RS232 slot. Thus external devices such as routers or outdoor cameras can be connected directly to the data logger, e.g., for monitoring purposes.
Additionally, Ammonit presents its online platform AmmonitOR which is used to monitor measurement campaigns 24/7 via internet access. AmmonitOR does not require a direct connection between PC and data logger. AmmonitOR shows all important project information at a glance. Measurement data can be displayed in diagrams, for example, correlation profiles, shadow zone plots, or turbulence intensity profiles. In order to check the data quality, users can set configurable filters to detect measurement errors or deviations from standard values. Hence, operators can promptly organise maintenance work, if problems with the measurement system occur. AmmonitOR offers also the possibility to create PDF reports, which show all necessary details of the resource assessment campaign as well as measurement data in diagrams. Users can choose from compact, standard or detailed reports.
In order to reliably transmit measurement data, the communication system has to work properly. Using the new Connection Log tool in AmmonitOR, the online availability of Meteo-40 data loggers can be monitored. Referring to the displayed online periods, users can work out the scheduled online periods for example to connect directly to the data logger for configuration purposes or to perform software upgrades. Connection Log does not require any measurement data. Only the data logger which should be monitored has to be registered in AmmonitOR. Users can decide on which server their measurement data should be uploaded via FTP or SCP – emailing data is also possible.
Visitors at the HUSUM WindEnergy exhibition can locate Ammonit in hall 4 at stand E04.
