REpower and Valorem agree to supply 21 wind turbines to France
REpower Systems AG (WKN 617 703) and the French wind farm developer Valorem have signed agreements on the supply and construction of a total of 21 wind turbines. The REpower MM92 wind power plants, each with a rated power of 2.05 megawatts (MW) and a hub height of 80 meters, are intended for five wind farms projects in the Vendée and Loire Atlantique regions in the West of France and are to be supplied and erected between March and June 2010.
The agreements for the supply to the five wind parks Saint Michel Chef Chef, La Marne, La Limouzinière, La Planche and Saint Philbert are being executed by the French subsidiary REpower S.A.S., based in Paris. The total of 21 turbines are the first wind power plants that the company is supplying to Valorem. Jean-Yves Grandidier, Managing Director of Valorem, added, “We welcome the opportunity to sign this agreement, affording Valorem additional growth in the area of wind energy and strengthening our position in this industry.”
Since the end of 2001, the third largest German wind turbine manufacturer has been distributing, erecting and maintaining its products in the French wind market via its subsidiary REpower S.A.S.. France is now the company’s second biggest market after the USA. In the past fiscal year, REpower Systems AG erected 133 turbines with a total generating capacity of 266 megawatts and recognized this in income.
