Buss Terminal Eemshaven wins port logistics contract for German OWF
Buss Energy Group (Buss) has been awarded the project contract by Heerema Marine Contractors, regarding the entire port logistics. The contract is scheduled to start at the end of this year and includes the unloading of monopiles, terminal handling and transport, storage of the components and loading them onto the seagoing barges for installation. Additionally, Buss will cover the engineering and project management aspects associated with the logistics scope of this project.
"For Buss Energy Group, the award of another offshore marshalling project underlines the leading position of Buss Terminal Eemshaven in the market of the North Sea and supports our approach to serve the industry not only as a provider of terminal areas, but as a full-service provider," Moritz von Schwerdtner, COO Offshore Wind of Buss Energy Group, said.
He Dreiht, which means "It turns" in Low German, will consist of 64 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 960 MW. The wind farm is situated approximately 90 kilometers northwest of the German island of Borkum.
For the Buss Energy Group, this major project is another milestone in positioning its expertise in port logistics and demonstrating the capabilities of the 300,000 m² heavy lift terminal BTE with its state-of-the-art infrastructure. "The project commitment shows that the successful development of the terminal and its infrastructure over the past years continues to pay off for the benefit of the renewable industry," von Schwerdtner said.
