Wölfel's SHM System to Enhance Safety and Performance of Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm

With 73 wind turbines and 2 offshore substations, the Hai Long offshore wind farm will be one of the largest in Taiwan. It is also notable for being the first offshore wind farm where each turbine is equipped with a SHM (Structural Health Monitoring) system.

The SHM system will monitor the jacket foundation structures of the turbines for their entire lifespan, ensuring effective lifetime management.

Wölfel is responsible for developing, installing and operating the SHM system.

During a successful on-site interface meeting with operator Northland Power and the steel manufacturer the next steps for the project were discussed. The team is excited to move forward with this innovative and important project.
