USA - Wind Power Supply Chain Workshop

Wind energy production is growing at an average rate of 29% a year (with 45% growth in 2007) and if this continues to accelerate, industry experts believe that wind has the potential to supply 20% of U.S. electricity by 2030. This will require the manufacture of 100,000 new wind turbines in that timeframe.

This unprecedented growth is bringing major supply chain challenges to the industry while it aggressively “ramps up” domestic manufacturing of wind turbines and their components. As a result, there is significant opportunity for state and local governments, manufacturers and component suppliers across all industries to help feed the supply chain and grow their business.
