Transmission capacity in the range of 22 power plants in the North Sea: TenneT awards on- and offshore converter stations and HVDC technology with a total capacity of 22 gigawatts
Bringing larger green electricity volumes from the North Sea to land, TenneT secures eight Dutch and three German 2 GW grid connection systems to be commissioned until 2031 with three collaborations consisting of Hitachi Energy/Petrofac, GE/SMOP and GE/McDermott / TenneT’s strategy of concluding the largest long term agreement of 2 GW HVDC systems underlines its commitment to accelerate the offshore grid development in Europe and sets the course for the future European energy landscape
