A new wind turbine replaces four old turbines and achieves an efficiency increase of 530 percent

Energiequelle GmbH has begun construction of the access track for the repowering operation at the Bad Gandersheim wind farm in Lower Saxony. The new E-160 wind turbine with a hub height of 166 metres and an output of 5.5 MW will replace the four existing turbines from summer 2023. The increased output of the new turbine will result in efficiency gains of 530%, which translates into an annual supply of green electricity for an additional 5,000 households. The dismantling of the old wind farm, which was built in 2000, will begin this month. The delivery of the tower for the new wind turbine is scheduled for June 2023.
