Wind Industry Profile of


AWEA and CanWEA Wind & Transmission Workshop

March 18 - 19, 2008, Detroit, Michigan

Transmission is the most significant long term barrier to continued wind power expansion and it presents significant challenges for developers in the US and Canada. This workshop will explore ways the wind industry and transmission entities can make more use of existing transmission capacity, work through the logjams in interconnection queues, comply with reliability rules, and expand transmission capacity. Additionally, the workshop will focus on practical actions that are being taken in states and provinces in both Canada and the US.
