Wind Industry Profile of
Vietnam Wind Power 2021: Save the Date!
With a growing GDP, increasing population, surging power growth rate with dependence on coal, and fantastic wind resources along the 3,000 km coastline for both onshore and offshore wind – Vietnam has all the fundamentals in place to be a wind power leader in the region.
By the end of 2020, Vietnam had a total cumulative installed wind power capacity of 600 MW, which includes 99 MW of offshore wind, the first of its kind in South East Asia. The market is predicted to install approximately 1.5 GW of wind capacity by 2021 and is on-track to meet the 6 GW by 2030 government target.
