News Release from XERVON Wind GmbH
Wind Industry Profile of
REMONDIS Maintenance & Services and XERVON enter the wind farm maintenance market
The XERVON Group, a business specialising in technical maintenance work, has begun offering its services to the wind energy sector as well. Its newly founded company XERVON Wind GmbH is manufacturer independent and provides a portfolio of services that covers the whole lifecycle of wind turbines – from helping to install wind farms, to performing inspection, servicing and repair work, all the way through to taking part in projects to retrofit or dismantle them.
XERVON Wind is also able to make use of the wide range of experiences and capabilities available across the whole of the REMONDIS Maintenance & Services Group, which delivers a full range of highly specialised services to its customers, the majority of whom can be found in the chemical, gas, oil and power plant industries. As a result, customers operating in the wind energy sector can now benefit from the group’s extensive knowledge and expertise in providing services that increase plant availability, optimise productivity levels and extend the service life of plants. Being part of the REMONDIS Group, XERVON Wind is also able to call on experts working in adjacent trades and so create additional synergies and offer an extraordinary breadth of services.
Thomas Breitkopf, board member at REMONDIS SE & Co. KG.: “Our customers benefit from the wide-ranging portfolio provided by the REMONDIS Group’s Industrial Services division in many different countries. By offering our expertise to the wind energy sector as well, we have strategically extended the scope of our business and taken a further step forward to fulfil our company’s mission of working for a sustainable future.”
Maik Schlapmann and Tobias Wilming have been appointed managing directors of XERVON Wind GmbH. Having worked in the wind energy sector for a good 16 years, Maik Schlapmann has in-depth experience of this industry. Tobias Wilming manages XERVON Instandhaltung’s branch in Lingen and so has comprehensive knowledge of the REMONDIS Maintenance & Services Group’s range of services and capabilities.
Maik Schlapmann: “XERVON Wind is able to offer wind farm operators an attractive range of services and the full breadth and depth of expertise they need and has the extensive resources available to do this – both from point of view of personnel and technology. These provide the best conditions for both XERVON Wind and for the wind power industry, which still faces some major challenges as the country looks to switch from fossil fuels to renewables.”
With the required changes having been put in place, XERVON Wind is now open for business and will already begin delivering its services to its customers during the second half of this year. And, as this new field of business is so important, the company is planning to extend and expand it rapidly. Targeted acquisitions should also made in the future to strengthen the division and drive forward organic growth.
