TrønderEnergi and Stadtwerke München Acquire Norway's Second Largest Wind Farm
Roan Wind Farm, with its 71 wind turbines, produces around 884 GWh per year and was part of Fosen Vind DA before the separation in 2021.
"We have been preparing for a long time to participate in the growth and value creation of wind energy in Central Norway. An important step in this strategy is to become a leading owner of the Roan wind farm. We are very pleased to have successfully completed this purchase. This is a transaction with great value creation for TrønderEnergi," said CEO Ståle Gjersvold.
Since the beginning of February, energy company TrønderEnergi has already been responsible for day-to-day operations. All seven employees have been taken on as well and another three have been hired. "It is particularly important to us that the transfer of employees from Statkraft to us went well, because all ten employees at the wind farm have a regional connection, which strengthens acceptance within the community of Åfjord," says Gjersvold.
After the acquisition, the shares will be invested in a joint holding company in which TrønderEnergi will hold 51 percent and Stadtwerke München 49 percent. For TrønderEnergi, this means an increase in annual production volume of 200 GWh, which corresponds to growth of almost 10 per cent.
