New European major orders for REpower from EDF EN

- Wind farms in England and France planned with 46 turbines and a total output of 92 MW

- Total order volume of around EUR 92 million

Hamburg, 28 February 2007. As part of its joint framework agreement, REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) has received additional major orders in Europe from the French company EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN), a subsidiary of the major European energy provider EDF. These involve two projects in Great Britain and one in France, and comprise a total of 46 2-megawatt class wind turbines: 20 MM82 turbines with total output of 40 MW and 26 MM92 turbines with total output of 52 MW. The combined order volume of the three projects includes also the installation, partly turnkey, and amounts to around EUR 92 million.

The "Bicker Fen" wind farm with 13 MM82 turbines is the fifth REpower project in the British Fenlands and will be implemented by the subsidiary REpower UK. The start of construction and commissioning of the first turbines is scheduled for the second half of 2007. REpower UK was the third largest manufacturer in the British market in 2006, putting 48 turbines into operation (96 MW installed capacity), this corresponds to a market share of 15 per cent.

The second project, the "Walkway" wind farm, is to be implemented in North-East England and involves the installation of seven MM82 turbines from the fourth quarter of this year. The wind farm taking over is scheduled for the first quarter of 2008. For the first time, the REpower UK service base in Preston will be in charge of the project.

The "Chemin d’Ablis" wind farm is located in France, south-west of Paris. It will comprise 26 MM92 turbines and will be realised by the French REpower subsidiary REpower S.A.S. The delivery of turbines is scheduled for the end of 2007 for a taking over during the first half of 2008.

The framework agreement between EDF EN and REpower, which has been in existence since 2004 and was extended last year, covers the supply of up to 140 2-megawatt class wind turbines in the European key markets of Germany, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Italy and Portugal by the end of 2008. This equals total output of up to 280 MW. With the framework agreement, both companies are expanding their strategic partnership in the implementation of wind energy projects over the next few years. In addition, the joint activities are likely to be expanded to Eastern and Southern Europe from 2008.
