Macquarie's Green Investment Group (GIG) announces the acquisition of Tysvær wind farm from Spanish Power. The planned 47 MW wind farm is located in the municipality of Tysvær, Rogaland Fylke, Southern Norway. The project is GIG's first in Norway and is designed to further expand GIG's presence in Northern Europe. The Markbygden, Overturingen and Hornamossen wind projects in Sweden were recently acquired.

The Tysvær project is in the final planning phase and is currently being reviewed by the Norwegian Water and Energy Directorate (NVE). Approval for the master plan was granted in July 2018 and the modified layouts are expected to be completed in October 2019. The current turbine supplier is Siemens Gamesa, which will install 11 of its 4.3 MW wind turbines.
