innogy Officially Inaugurates its First Wind Farm in Ireland
Hans Bünting, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Renewables at innogy SE, said: “I am pleased to officially open Dromadda Beg wind farm – our first project in Ireland. These three wind turbines are the proof that our decision for the Irish market entrance three years ago was the right one. We plan further long-term investments in this promising wind market, supporting the Irish Government to achieve its climate change and renewable energy targets.”
The 10.2 MW plant started operations end of 2018 and has now been officially inaugurated.
Currently, innogy is also working on the first Irish offshore wind farm, a 600MW project located in the Irish Sea, off the coast of Dublin. Therefor, they have teamed up with Irish company Saorgus Energy. The partners are currently undertaking technical studies to further progress the development through to planning consent.
