Seaway Offshore Cables (SOC) Wins First U.S. Offshore Wind Project
The multi-million-dollar contract for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Project will see SOC, and Subsea 7 operating out of the Gulf of Mexico, to perform the turnkey supply and installation of inner array grid cables for the CVOW Project located approx. 43km off the east coast of the US.
Two 6 MW turbines will be installed on monopile foundations as a demonstration project owned by Dominion Energy and constructed by Ørsted.
Steph McNeill, Senior Vice President Renewables and Heavy Lifting, said: “Securing this contract has generated great pride within our entire SOC and Subsea 7 project team. This is a significant achievement that marks our continued growth in what we recognise is a crucial market for the world’s future energy needs."
It's the first project for SOC in the U.S.
