RES Complete Major Component Replacement in Northern Ireland

RES’ growing O&M team has successfully completed a major component change at Altahullion Wind Farm in County Derry, Northern Ireland.

In order to replace the yaw ring on the 15-year old Siemens 1.3 turbine, the RES team re-engineered a suite of heavy lifting tools and support frames. The task, which involved the removal of the rotor and nacelle and then a rebuild of the turbine, took five days onsite and a team of six engineers.
