Germany: Results of the First Joint Tender of Wind and Solar Are in
"Only bids for solar systems were accepted. In competition, the technology that can offer at the lowest cost wins out," says Jochen Homann, President of the Federal Network Agency who is resposnible for tenders in Germany. "However, the success of the energy transition requires a mix of different technologies."
Average surcharge value 4.67 ct/kWh
32 bids worth 210 megawatts were awarded. The average, quantity-weighted surcharge value is 4.67 ct/kWh. In the last pure solar tender, this was 4.33 ct/kWh. The lowest surcharge value in the competition is 3.96 ct/kWh; the highest surcharge value is 5.76 ct/kWh.
Of the bids accepted, five were for 31 megawatts of arable and grassland land in disadvantaged areas in the federal state of Bavaria and three for 17 MW in Baden-Württemberg. 54 bids in total have been received, 18 for onshore wind turbines and 36 for solar installations.
