Romania - Constanta Port to produce wind energy
Constanta Port will become in the next months one of the leading producers of electricity from non-conventional sources in Romania, ACT Media news agency reports. General manager of the Administration of Maritime Ports Mircea Banias said the project involves the construction of 12 generators activated by wind turbines positioned on the northern dam of Constanta Port, producing 70,000 MWh of electricity. "We will organise and international tender for 12 locations, where wind plants are to be built in spring 2006. The investment costs 30 million euros, while the generators will be operated by companies interested in the project," said Banias. He said that famous U.S., Dutch and German companies have already expressed interest in the project.
