Ammonit signs partnership with leading SODAR manufacturer AQSystem
Berlin, 6 March 2014. Ammonit Measurement GmbH, leading supplier of top level measurement equipment for the wind and solar industry, enters global sales partnership with AQSystem, manufacturer of the best SODAR (1) Systems on the market. At the EWEA (10 – 13 March 2014) in Barcelona, Ammonit will introduce the latest in SODAR development, the AQ510 windfinder.
“We are very happy to have signed a global distribution agreement with AQSystem. Thus we enhance the Ammonit sales strategy in the SODAR business. With its proven track record of developing advanced SODAR and power supply systems, AQSystems has an excellent reputation in the wind energy market. We are convinced that our customers will greatly benefit from our extended product portfolio and from the new AQ510 SODAR”, highlights Vincent Camier, Managing Director of Ammonit.
Pelle Hurtig, CEO of AQSystem:” This new partnership fits well in AQSystems strategy to expand the business outside of Scandinavia and we look forward to a successful collaboration with Ammonit and their wide network of distributor channels. The simultaneous launch of the new product series AQ510 does bring additional potential to this partnership. We are also very pleased to have signed this partnership with Ammonit since they are a well renowned company with a very good reputation in the global wind energy market.”
AQ510 windfinder measures wind conditions up to a height of 200m with a resolution of 5m. Hence the wind profile for the whole rotor blade area of a wind turbine can be calculated. With more than 97% at 100m and more than 92% at 150m, the SODAR system offers very high data availability. In order to ensure high data quality, AQ510 windfinder is validated against an IEC 61400-12-1 compliant met mast.
The SODAR system can be installed as a supplement to a met mast in a measurement campaign for wind site assessment as well as to monitor the performance of wind turbines. AQ510 windfinder is a mobile system, which operates at only 15W. Due to the advanced design of AQ510 windfinder neither snow nor rain influences data quality and availability.
