For many years, Canada made a name for itself mainly in oil and natural gas production and was considered one of the greatest adversaries against international climate agreements. However, in recent years, a change has also taken place there and the country has begun to invest in renewable energies. Today, apart from natural gas, wind energy is one of the most cost-effective forms of power supply. Nevertheless, the expansion is still in its early stages.

Danish rotor blade specialist LM Wind Power and Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) are working together to improve the output of offshore wind farms. To do so they took a closer look at the tips of the rotor blades in various tests and slightly modified their shape.
