While the Americans are at least a small step ahead and currently working on building up an offshore wind industry, their northern neighbour Canada has so far not made any major efforts in offshore wind power. Covering its electricity needs with natural gas and oil, which are available in vast quantities, has been too easy for long. But Canada will now no longer block the way to offshore wind industry.
